The first application for development on the former Hoddesdon Police Station site has been made, this time relating to the car parking area behind the existing structure. The proposal is for a single structure comprising five two bedroom residential units, with five associated car parking spaces. The Local Plan expects the site to accommodate 30 new dwellings, so this is just a start...

Plans have been submitted for a covered padel court structure on  existing tennis courts

An application for planning permission has been submitted to erect two padel courts at the Broxbourne Sports Club.  The drawings show a 8.25m high structure which is 43.3m long, with white canvas walls with the court enclosure to be black mesh fence and clear glass panels.  The proposed  opening times are 8am-10pm (7 days a week) and the application states that LED sports lighting will be included....

Padel court proposal at Broxbourne Sports Club

With the future of the Museum secured, the new Trustees are planning the first exhibitions and are asking for volunteers

The new Trust for Lowewood Museum has now been formally established, with David Dent as the new Chair, and is busy planning for its reopening.  There was an outpouring of support from the local community when Broxbourne Council's Cabinet voted to close Lowewood, and continued support is needed to help this important local resource.....
